yesterday when i arrived at work i was told there had been a lice outbreak. yikes! (for those of you who don't know, i work in childcare). it was actually one of the teacher's who had it. still not sure whether she picked it up somewhere else or if it was from one of the kids. this news freaked me out. there is something in my past some of you know about, others, maybe not. i have had lice. i got it on my mission. i had it for close to 5 miserable months! i had it so bad with a rash on my neck and behind my ears were they were starting to try to burrow into my skin! did you know they did that? a family we taught had it and we didn't discover that until it was too late. anywho, the whole story is pretty long and involved but basically i could not get rid of it because of my long curly hair. i guess. i did the treatment countless times and each time i thought i got it but then a week or two later i would find some nits in my hair. it gives me the creepie crawlies just remembering. finally the mission nurse told me i had to cut off my hair...all of it, or i probably wouldn't get rid of the lice. i cried. but i did it. this picture was taken probably the day i got it cut. so short. oh, how i hated it. i really hope i don't get lice again. *sigh*

Angie,
That story was like reader's digest "drama in real life" I definitely got the willies thinking about it... My head is actually kind of itchy... what does lice look like? I have had these little white things crawling around in my hair recently...but I just figured that my dandruff was mobile...hmmmm.. Just kidding. Anyway. Best of luck... Make an invisible circle around yourself and when anyone (I mean anyone, gets within the circle, yell at the top of your lungs "back you vile carrier of neck burrowing parasites, back!!!"
That should get it done.
Thanks for the Keeping up appearance DVD you guys. Annie and I spent Satruday watching it... Annie went from skeptical (she hasn't really enjoyed the british shows much) to pleasantly amused, to wanting to watch the whole thing. She already has a candlelight supper planned....
Thanks again
Jake
I think it gives you a good excuse to quit your job early... hah ha. if you do get lice and have to cut your hair- save the hair and make a piece. Then you can have it weaved back in. (hmmm it was a joke but it might not be a bad idea...)by the way -thanks for the cute card. real mail rocks!
I hope you don't get the lice, but I think your short hair is cute. Long or short, you are just a darling. mom
Angie... stay far away from work. maybe you could wear a shower cap to work. I'm serious Ang. That mission lice story was disturbing. If all else fails, I agree with jake as to handle the situation. nice one hon.
