Well, I spent this last weekend in Idaho Falls at the ICON boardgame convention. Kent and Timmy drove up early Friday morning and picked me up, we got there around noon and jumped right into it. It was two days long and the convention center was rented all through the night so we stayed there the entire time (i slept for 1 hour underneath a table). I played some awesome games and got to meet alot of cool gamers. I have so many games I want to buy now! I even got to trade away some games I never play for some cool games that others had brought. I participated in a few tournaments and even did pretty well in a couple. I played in the championship game for El Grande (I'd never played it before the convention). Anyways, I really had a ball and am so excited for the Salt Lake convention in July! Woo Hoo!
This is a link to a list of the cool games Iplayed:

Wow Dan, The games you posted look interesting, and I wondered if you learn any history when you play them. When you come this summer, bring your very favorites and we will enjoy them with you. mom

Ok Dan,

I see the serious potential for a Mocumentary here! Now I have a mole in the system! Seriously though, I think its awesome that they have conventions for this kind of stuff... maybe I should look into a convention for Jeremiah JOhnson enthusiasts.... I guess they are called Mountain Man Rendezvous' right?

Wow... we were in Idaho Falls at the same time and didn't even know it... we went to Rexburg last weekend for Adams sister's wedding and we stayed the night in Idaho Falls.
When is the convention in Salt Lake? Maybe Adam will want to go too...

it's official! You really are a big nerd! do you wear t-shirts with game logos on them? basically i am just amazed. amazed because that is the last place on earth that i would choose to go. not because it's nerdy but because i am not good at most board games. anything more complicated than "sorry" gives me anxiety. How can we be so different in this way! anyways...have fun with your games.

wow dan,

I'm not really sure how to comment on this. I will say that I have secretly always wanted to go to a UFO and/or science fiction convention... and now its not a secret anymore. I imagine it was somewhat simliar. i keep imaginng Galaxy Quest.

I'm glad you had fun. can't wait to play your new games. You should bring some to Oregon!
