Travel Log: Days 1 & 2

Well, we're off! We had lots of help packing things up in Moscow monday night and early tuesday morning we left Moscow not knowing if we would ever see it again. We've decided to post to this blog as we travel to update loved ones on our progress. Day 1 we made great time and made it clear past Billings, MT. We were shocked to find no vacancies anywhere and had to spend the night at a rest stop, which worked okay. Day 2 we got a great early start and drove through the prairies of North Dakota and into Minnesota. The rain in MN was awful, I've never seen it rain so hard and I've never seen raindrops so big! FYI, the roads around the Twin Cities are awful, it was so bumpy and the wind was making things miserable. I'm writing this from our hotel room in Menomonie, Wisconsin. We're about halfway there!

Day 1 (Moscow, ID - Miles City, MT)
total trip miles = 793
total trip driving time = 14.5 hrs
total trip fuel cost = $281.88

Day 2 (Miles City, MT - Menomonie, WI)
total trip miles = 1,503
total trip driving time = 27 hrs
total trip fuel cost = $549.44

Glad your doing OK. In all the miserableness keep the epicness of it all in perspective! Glad you are taking pictures. WE are praying for you every night and know that things will be OK. My guess is tomorrow night will be in.... Ohio? Safe travels.

I thought you learned your lesson about Minnesota and Wisconsin! I am assuming you spent significantly more time in Minnesota this trip away from a toilet, oh and have the roads improved at all in Wisconsin? My memories of the roads around milwaukee were that they pretty much were the suckiest ever! Get through the rust belt and you should be fine! Happy trails

Ang, you should know better than to think a member of our family can travel and not encounter rain! Hey, could you call with your new address tomorrow? We want to google it.
Thanks for keeping us posted, Dan. Really glad your Mom got you a room for the night. Hope it helps Mona calm down, too. : )
We're praying for you!

Thanks for the update! Wow...gas is expensive! Mona looks pretty content in her little spot.
I am baffled by your 27 hours of total driving time on Day 2...I thought there were only 24 hours in a day :)
Love you guys! We're praying for you too.
