When in Rome...

Wow, so here you go! We have finally gotten around to uploading all our pictures and slap another post on our blog. Just a run down- we took the train to Venice the morning after we arrived and spent all day there. It was really cool! There was alot of fog and even sprinkled a little while we were there, but it didn't dampen our spirits- Angie even got her face painted. We spent the next day or two playing with the boys and visiting San Marino (it's the castle on the hill in the pictures, and is also it's own independent republic). Isaac was blessed on Sunday and it was fun to add Italian to the ever-growing list of languages in which we've attended church :). Early Monday morning we were on a bus to Rome. We stayed 2 nights there in a hostel and had a ball. There was so much to see, but after 3 days of constant walking and metro-ing (we had completely mastered the public transportation by the time we left) we feel like we've seen everything in Rome 2 or 3 times. It was so cool how much history there was. I kept thinking how much Josh would love it. You've got to go sometime :) Everywhere you look there are 2,000 year old ruins and so many of them have just been added to and have become parts of new buildings. We toured the Colosseum and the Vatican- so much history and so many cool things to look at, a person could spend a lifetime there and not take it all in- but after 3 days their legs would be tired, that's for sure :) After Rome it was back on the train and back to the plain and back to the states eventually (for me at least). Angie stayed a full week longer and did some more fun things. She can tell you about those, but I'll tell you she saw some old books and dead monks- does that wet your apetite?

Dang it!! i am jealous. that sounds sooooo cool. i got a little sneak peak tour inside Angies second week of the trip and the really cool old books. we talked about it when i picked her up at the airport. She was pretty darn beat though (all day in planes...i can understand!), so we will look forward to an official re-telling!
we went to Dan's foods the other day and my kids were so excited to see Dan. they thought you would be at a place called Dans.. they were bummed.

Those are great pictures!!! Angie looks really good. (thinner maybe?) she is always perfectly cute in my book anyways. So glad you got to have that experience.

Nice beard Dan!!

Here is what it says to me.... "I am so free of worldly concerns that I am here in Europe with this much hair on my face"

Looks like alot of fun, maybe we'll all have to go over to italia for christmas or something before Dave and Becky leave

also, that bottom picture is classic callister!! i can tell that you are holding the camera out and taking a picture of yourselves. i have done this numerous times with Deena, because i don't want to ask somebody to take a picture for us. they all look the same... two big heads at the bottom of the picture
